Welcome.

Not much to add as fellow contributors have said it all, I'm still loving it and have had most of the 'experiences' from being an early adopter. I have Ebony interior not too dark at all.

My new motor!!

Will probably keep the standard wheels on during the winter and get some 21" wheels next spring. have noticed quite a few wheels for sale on ebay and was wondering if these in the main are genuine Landrover wheels or indeed cheap Chinese copies...

Hi!
I have spent a lot of time reading the disco4 forum, and I am now thinking of buying a second LR.
I must admit that I have not decided between RRS or FFRR, but at the moment I am leaning towards the FFRR.

Thanks for a great forum!

Welcome Tim ...

Enjoy you have got the best engine for the RR by a country mile, a bit of a different experience due after your Disco Smile mind you i still jump in my Disco on a regular basis, somehow it seems to cope with mud and crap better than the L405 ( OCD Rolling Eyes ) Neutral Far to many gone...

Wink

Take care with wheels , there are copies out there already Sad , think you will find a couple of our site sponsors will quite often have wheels available, yes i have changed my wheels over to 20" for the winter with winter tyres , very few 21" winter tyre options available for the FFRR Far to many gone...

i went from a D4 (and previously D3) to our L405 RR 4.4 - it's certainly a much more luxurious drive and the extra power is nice to have, but i do miss the practicality of the Disco and the fact it's much more 'fit for purpose' in hauling three small children and a dog.

Rolling Eyes I was on d3 for 6 years and tbh I share your view on the initial WELCOME to the forum...I felt a bit out in the cold - BUT that was the same on d3 in the early days so give it some time...

Oh, most of the chaps on here have an L322 so your royalty with a brand new L405 Thumbs Up

If your feeling a little bit like the old d3 forum is a comfort zone....these lads can take the Censored just as well as the mob back there in peasant land Rolling with laughter Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

We have had reservations to be frank, but having had 2 disco 3's and 2 disco 4's, we just fancied a change!
I agree that the Disco is a great family car, but sometimes that worked against us! My wife was constantly being asked to ferry other peoples kids around on the school run etc, because everybody knew she had 7 seats!

We've got 3 young daughters and they will fit OK on the back seat!

With regards to the dogs (we have 2 st Bernards!) they never went in the disco anyway! I have a V6 Navara which we use when the dogs travel anywhere with us, because I just couldn't stand the smell if they were in the Disco!

As a family, the new Rangie will be used mostly by my wife, so there will only be 4 of them in the car. If we go to Europe on holidays, for example, the dogs will not be travelling with us.

If we go to Wales at the weekends, we take the Navara, because we always seem to come home with half the Pembrokeshire beach in the back of the car, and I wouldn't want that in the new Rangie! 2017 Range Rover SDV8 Vogue SE

yeah, thats also one of the reasons we went away from the D4. it was always the car of choice for the pub run with pals or to ferry others children - sometimes i did damn those extra 2 seats...

the RR is an even better long distance car than the D4 though, the children have more than enough space in the back to stretch out on regular runs down to Cornwall and it's just so relaxing to drive with super long gearing and plenty of low down punch. the only downside is that the boot is pretty small for such a big car.

great car, i hope you'll be delighted.
