Less than 500 mls and the problems have started!

Being a discovery 3 owner i am very used to Land Rovers having faults! - But i was slightly shocked when my old man rang yesterday saying he has problems, with less than 500 mls on the clock of his new range rover!!

He went to pick up a christmas tree, and drove the short drive home with the top tail gate open. once removed he shut the boot, and it then wouldn't open again. the car would also then not lock. LR assit came out and he managed to open the boot but only manually, and with difficulty. but was unable to figure why it wouldnt lock.
booked in with the dealer tomorrow.

Obviously was something to do with driving with the tailgate open, but LR assist said it is fine to drive with it open. hoping it is just a sensor or something similar gone.

also hoping this is going to be a one off and not an unreliable car...

anyone had a similar problem?

Can happen when you forget to use the remote to close the boot or the buttons on the tailgate and pull it down by accident , you then can do a reset of the tailgate think it's in the manual.

However my 13MY car did have a very similar problem , not had it on the later one. Far to many gone...

the problem is not so much a problem as to do with the Anti-Trap function i was told , of course you would stick your head in the opening while pressing the remote !! HSE rules lmao Far to many gone...
