On so many posts people correctly use the ^ symbol to refer to previous posts in the thread.
Surely it should be ^ to reference the post directly above
^^ for 2 posts above
^^^ for 3 above etc..

When people are obviously referring to the above post but use ^^^^^ it confuses me!

Just looking to standardise use of the ^ symbol.
