Pendle Strap On Bike Rack - Can we use it?

Realised today that I have a Pendle strap on bike rack that I bought for our previous Discovery 3. Used about twice and still boxed (not taken it out of the box to try at this late hour!).

Hoped it might fit the RR but according to my understanding of this website, it will only fit a Discovery:
http://www.pendle-bike.co.uk/shopping/strap-on-rack.php

Wondered if anyone has managed to use one of these on a RR (which would be good to hear) or if confirmed as not possible, how does one get an advert on the Discovery 3 or 4 website... have you got to be a member and have x amount of posts before placing an advert?

Thanks

From the pic on your weblink it would appear more suited to a more flat/vertical rear door.

I have used a pendle rack that fits a mount between tow bar and ball for 15 years+. Very simple, very effective and good quality Thumbs Up (Just had a couple of extension shafts made to use it with a caravan too). The best bit is its easy to store in RR whilst on your ride, so it's out of temptations way!

I think there is a way to put in your vehicle type into the website and it will show you the right rack.

I would say with a bit of fiddling around it would fit. I have a basic halfords universal rack of similar type i bought for hols and it went all the way to france and back no problems.

Just needs to be made to sit right by using the adjustments i reckon. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If it relies on any straps that go over the spoiler i wouldnt use it as the spoiler wont take a lot of abuse with 3 decent bikes on the back.

Personally the towball option is the best one long term.

The strap on ones are only good for some cars that have a strong enough bootlid to support them, as dont forget, at motorway speeds there is a lot more force on it than you think Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
