Just looking for a bit of advice, I was expecting delivery in the next few days of my 3.0 Vogue. The build date was 26.11.13 and I have been contacted this morning to say that there has been a mistake on the order and they have actually built a 4.4 not a 3.0.
I have been asked to pay another £5k for the 4.4!
Apparently it has been built to my spec just with the different engine.

What usually happens in this situation?

If you have a contract with the spec agreed stick to it not your mistake assuming you dont mind having the 4.4 Mine was a blue one!

You have to wonder if they used your order for someone or a dealer who was screaming for that car and you ended up with this one, and now they want to see if they can get more money for it too. Just thinking....  Discovery 4 HSE

More likely to be a plain, straightforward cock-up. Not uncommon with L405 orders it seems.

as with Andy3681 above - show them your order sheet and tell them that's the car you ordered, and it's their mistake. You could mention that if they want to give you the 4.4 at no extra cost as they got the order wrong, you will ofcourse be happy to (reluctantly ) take this car instead as a compromise... worth a shot I think what's £5k to Land Rover with the new LFFRR coming and likely to be sold out MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

Check your contract. They just say we will build you another one please wait while we do!

Thanks for all your replies.

To update, the GM called and stated that he has managed to obtain a build slot for 6th January for my actual car.
After much screaming and bawling, it was agreed that II could receive £2k off the new order.

Quite pleased with the deal and now it will be a Jan 14 instead of Nov 13. Only thing is that it mucks up my plans for over Xmas.

You will have a MY14.5 build now so you may want to check out the new options that are available.

Also be aware there has been a bit of de-contenting going on for MY14.5 but this doesn't affect the Vogue so much. I think it just has a little less leather on the rear arches inside and the hub of the steering wheel.
