looking for my 'dream machine' on the web i've noticed that some ffrr's look better than others..they seem to sit better on the road ...would this be down to the suspension setting and if so whats the best setting for normal day to day motoring... |

There are no 'settings' to play with. All FFRRs ride at the same height. Visual comparison differences will be due to people putting the car into access height for photos and/or different alloy wheel sizes. Discovery 4 HSE

Not sure why it would. System should be air-tight.

Think there is also the 'just below normal driving height' (no manual control) that the car adopts at higher speeds (i.e. when on motorways etc). So there are 5 height variations in total I believe. Steve

Don't know if you can do it on later ones, or possibly I dreamt it altogether, but press and hold the up switch?? |

The motorway setting (lowers over 62mph/100kph) was deleted from later models. Not sure when, but I think only pre facelift cars have it. 05 model or earlier. Later ones have a "High Speed" setting instead that lowers the car by 20mm... providing you are doing in excess of 100mph/160kph.

I don't think mine drops at speed. To be fair though, with the electronics on the later one, it doesn't need to!

Fox, was about to answer the same and was impressed with your knowledge. I thought only I was so nerdy to know all that stuff!

When i fitted side tubes to mine Ken got my car into full height mode but articially letting the car think it was offroad using ramps etc and got the car very high so we could get access underneath.

There's a guy on ebay from Newcastle area that can change all your suspension setting. Not seen his work or anything but think it's more for lowering the car. |
