Hi,

A friend is considering replacing the entire system other than the head unit (and associated items like navigation unit) to an aftermarket setup. So this would consist of replacing all the speakers, installing a better 12'' subwoofer in the space where it currently holds two 6.5'' subwoofers and replacing the amplifier and DSP system with a more modern/higher quality amplifier all in the aid for more clarity.

So, my question is, has anybody successfully replaced the standard DSP system and amplifier to an aftermarket amplifier in a 2002-2005 system whilst retaining the standard non-touch screen head unit?

Any help appreciated.
