i'm looking to buy a secondhand ffrr and was wondering whether the sat nav/tv option is worth the extra money or whether a after market chinese style sat nav /dvd unit can be fitted in place of a radio/cd player... |

Personally I think anything that is retrofitted looks cheap and tatty compared to OE. Of course it can be done but I'm not cinvinced it will aid resale value when the time comes, I'd be put off by a car that had been messed with.

Wouldn't be without the TV/DVD in mine ( with TV in motion ), not so sure about the Satnav system. Looks good and would make it a more desirable RR to the next owner |

In Supercharged form ![]() I've not used the Sat Nav in mine much as it's dated and you can't enter postcodes, what I did like when I have used it is how it interacts with the car, cutting the stereo out to give you instructions etc, the TV has come in quite handy a few times. I would definatly get a Vogue, most people looking for them are put off by lower spec ones and there isn't that much price difference second hand. |

thanks nappler, one advantage of a chinese after market sat nav like i have in my s-max is that the maps are in 3d and are up to date ......surely someone on the forum has fitted an after market unit?. |

i have 3d maps on my FFRR standard landrover unit, theres to much to start messing around with after putting after market units in and by the time you get all the interface units it will cost as much V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I like the sat nav in mine. Particularly when you can just say "Navigation - Go Home" and it'll start working out how to get you home from wherever you happen to be. The novelty of that has not worn off after 18 months of ownership. |

i suppose the rr isnt the average 'run of the mill' ford , so after market in-dash sat nav stuff isnt available...with the limitations of the oe rr unit , it still looks the best bet... |
