Warranty extension

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, so apologies in advance, but I'm interested in views / experience of Land Rover Warranty (not 'Select', but the comprehensive one) vs Warranty Wise etc..
My car is about to come to the end of its original 3 year cover, and I'm unsure which way to go.

Claimed for about 3k on mine with the full approved warranty for various things, paid out on all of it except for a rear wash wipe arm.

Had an entire new fbh, headlamp, heater control unit, resealed and refilled the transfer box, sticky caliper and a few others

No problems at all. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had the same decision to make in June and went for it. As you will already know, it's not cheap but I did have a (minor) breakdown in August and it was quite nice that I didn't have to do anything to make a claim.

The dealers seem to know if you have a LR warranty when you book the car in.

To me, that was the value. I just didn't fancy having to form an argument with a third party warranty company every time something went wrong.

There are obviously a range of views here and it's not difficult to find a suitable cheaper alternative!

If you are buying an extended warranty you will not do much better than either the LR approved or select warranties. You have to specify and pay extra for the LR assist breakdown cover so be sure that you do not have some form of breakdown cover elsewhere or you might needlessly waste money on LR breakdown cover payments.

Having had both LR approved and select warranty on cars continuously since 2006, our experience is that you will do well to find a better, hassle free warranty, whichever LR one is applicable.

They are not cheap warranties to buy but every year we have had one, it has more than paid for itself.

You can pay via one lump sum or monthly with no interest. If paying monthly and you are, for example, '4 months in', you can sell the car privately and transfer the warranty to the new owner or you can simply stop paying the monthly premium without penalty.

I'm guessing LR will only do the select warranty on the cars they actually sell.

Just renewed mine, LR Select.
I chose to renew based on the few faults I've had, were sorted in a fuss free manner.
A further benefit is the guarantee of genuine parts and LR trained technicians.
Can't imagine taking my pride and joy to an unknown garage that 'X' warranty company tell me I have to use.
LR Main dealer service for me, has been much better than I've experienced from any other brand of vehicle.
Had it, loved it!

You can get a Land Rover warranty on any vehicle that comes within the criteria of the warranty but if the vehicle has not been supplied by the providing dealer you will have to pay for a pre warranty inspection and this is the fun bit , any thing wrong will not be included . 2008 MY Supercharged

If you go with LR option make sure to take it out before current one expires to avoid the inspection. I'm in same boat as mine expires 5th Dec so was no issue extending TDV8 Vogue SE 2009.
TDV8 Sport. Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!

My new to me 59 plate S/C doesn't have LR warranty, can I get it after the expiry?

I was given an excellent quote from Warranty Direct tonight and whilst I have reservations, they exist for all warranties.

You should be able to get an approved warranty on your car. It may need an inspection though f your current has expired. Best to call lr warranty them selves. And ask the question Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
