My understanding is that the VW Group Webasto parts don't talk to the LR Webasto - the WBUS protocol is slightly different for the VW ones compared to standard.

Aside from that, Steve's RR is a 2003. The remote receiver does not communicate with the FBH via W-bus on these yet - it's just a simple switched +.

Buying new OEM parts will not make sense. A remote alone from LR costs as much as a small house (I was quoted something like €480 several years ago Shocked )(Ok, so a very small house...).

Ebay.... The simple solution is a T60 (6 (?) pins arranged in a square - usually white connector IIRC) or T80 (all pins in a line - usually black IIRC) depending on what is in the car. Plug n play.

I didn't know they weren't WBUS on earlier ones, cheers Thumbs Up

So a sub £20 eBay remote kit then for the absolute basic option

That's what I was trying to say with 'all in a row'. You have a later-early L322 with the T80 plug. Plug and play for you would be something like this http://www.ebay.de/itm/Webasto-Telestart-T...2ecbb5fb8b

This kit includes everything you need: remote, matching receiver, and antenna.

I would go with this antenna and see if the range suffices with the antenna mounted under the interior D-pillar cover. The OEM antenna amp required to connect the window antenna to the T80 entails expenditures for another small house.

If you are interested and can hang on another week or 2, though, I am working on a phone receiver that works with an iOS/Android app. Costs will be a little higher than a used T80, but you will not need to carry an additional remote and range is unlimited (providing cell phone coverage is present).A confirmation that the FBH has received a start signal is sent back by the receiver. Please send a PM if interested.
