...that I noticed water dripping through the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. Excellent, no chance to call anyone out cos of the time.

So, after much frenetic placement of things to catch water, I was up my ladders, in the rain, in the dark, on my own, looking at the roof from the outside. No tiles missing, but there's a leak somewhere (as there's no plumbing/tanks etc above th ceilings in this house)

My own doing really. Started replacing my roof some years ago and never quite got round to finishing it!
I had strategically placed water collectors in the eaves, like an old baby bath, to catch the never ending drips.
Finished it this summer at last.. It's a good feeling to be watertight again....
The problem with leaks is that the water can travel behind slates, tiles, wood etc for quite a distance before it pools and drips through your ceiling. You will just need to investigate in the daylight.. Previously..
