Warranty help

I'm new to this forum so hello.... Now thats out the way with, has anyone got any advice on which warranty would be the best to buy. I have a 60 plate vogue se with 86,000 on the clock. Landrover won't put the good warranty on it with the millage. so I need some advice on who's best?

I'm in a worried state of mind at the moment as it has done a good job of disassembling its self over the past 3 years and the list of work that has been done is almost comical.

Hi,

Our SC has had many problems within the first 6 months of ownership. It is covered by the LR Select warranty and a lot of goodwill form the selling main dealer. The Select warranty is an excellent warranty. Gary Elliot made reference to a Warranty Wise warranty with a £5k claim limit.

I have mentioned it elsewhere but I am with Warranty Direct and found them very straight to deal with and no problems and they have paid out on the couple of items that have needed things doing over the last three years.

I did some serious thinking about taking out a warranty. I did take a good close look at Warranty Direct. Their policy was definitely one of the better ones.

The only down side to a Warranty Direct policy that I can see is that it only covers the car upto 130,000 miles and after 90,000 miles you would be expected to foot 50% of the cost of any wear and tear / betterment replacement parts. So as an example if your alternator failed after 90,000 miles then you would need to pay 50% towards the new alternator part, but Warranty Direct would cover 100% of the labour costs.

When it comes to prices they started off at just over £800 for 1 year but soon came down in price when I decided against a warranty. They also increased the level of cover to the top level as an incentive etc, at no extra cost so if you do decide to go with them don't just order it but speak to them and haggle for a better price and upgraded policy.

Just out of interest - what price did you get them down to? - the online quote for mine is 835 per year! "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

'61 Plate 5.0SC Autobiography - in Black ——— Gone
'53 plate 4.4V8 Vogue Bonatti Grey inside and out. ----- Gone

It was a while back now, so I am not sure of the exact figure, but it was around £650 give or take £30, but all done verbally. I ended up stopping the guy in the end so who knows what the price would have stopped at.

I imagine they take certain criteria like age and mileage into account.
