Fuel Filler Cap - Rubber Retaining Strip

Hi,

From the attached image, can the rubber retaining strip be replaced without buying the whole new cap please (ours perished)?

Thanks.

Not that I found - but then I stopped looking when I found out the whole thing was only a few £ to replace

The pictured cap costs £32 from Powerful UK. It was just an example to show the strap. Not a lot of money but our cap is fine, less the rubber strap.

Mine was the same, Ryan. Dealer replaced it FOC.

Powerful's prices are horrendous on Genuine stuff. Si. <This is my name.

Entire cap. You can't buy the rubber strip seperately. Si. <This is my name.

I think the part number is: WLD500220 and should be about £7.50 plus vat from dealers. Try Dan.

There seems to be a newer one LR012897 that is priced at over £35 which is ridiculous for a standard fuel cap so try and source the older one. What changes could they really have made to a lid?

My rubber retainer strap broke last week so I just removed it and use the cap old school style! Tom

It is a bit ridiculous that we have to fork out pounds to get something that actually costs a few pence at the most.

Mine is also gone but I just leave it. I stick it in the "holder" in the fuel door during filling and that's it. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I've tracked down my invoice - mine was the part no. above, cost £8.18+VAT from the local dealer
