Jealous! Sounds a brilliant trip to make.

Thinking of going to Oz December/January. I think I can get 4 weeks off which would make the trip possible. Would like to do some sailing so NZ is also an option.

Looking forward to the updates. Thumbs Up

Stay down the bottom half, the top will be very hot and humid. That is in the middle of the wet season, and can be very uncomfortable for those who don't like 40+ c, and 99% humidity.

Thanks for the advice Bob - I do like it warm, but +40 is a bit much.

you lucky, lucky people...

i have a FFRR and a caravan. (here in UK) its been a bathtub 'nodding off' dream of mine to drive around australia in a range rover. Previously, whilst visiting my sister last time, we drove a car (only) down from brisbane to sydney, staying in static vans etc and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. some fantastic towns and scenery. Previous to that we took a hire car around Cairns area and a mini 4x4 out into far north queenland, through small rivers and hills etc. through bushfires and swamp areas, deserted beaches, jungle, waterfalls, only wish it could have gone on for months. Even some seemingly boring pics i took at the time, are no perfect reminders of perfect days....I wish i had a squashed cane toad counter mounted somewhere!

Please take lots of pics, and host them somewhere we can get a glimpse of that 'gap year'
now that we have kids, I cant put them though something like that, so it will only ever be something limited. but i can still dream of those evenings, and those mornings. the fantastic sunlight, the heat, -and those frogs!

when people tell you (here) of dramatic things that happened to them, I tell them of our encounters in Australia, i seem like someone trying to trump them all the time!

not mine but a great insight, 20mins

and here was one of our best days out. (not my footage) 3mins
