United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zermatt Silver
What to do with my Range Rover?

Hey guys. I bought a Range Rover Vogue TDV6 last week. Its Silver with a Dark Grey/Charcoal interior.

It is the standard version (not SE) so i'm wondering what to do with it.

It currently has 19" Land Rover wheels (i think? standard..)
No window tint
Standard grill and sidevents
Standard wing mirrors
etc

I was thinking of:

Adding a black tint
Changing the front grill to a supercharged one, same with side vents
Adding full/half chrome wing mirror covers

And im looking for some 20 - 22" wheels for it.

How does this sound?

I was looking at some supercharge grills, and i know the genuine ones are dark grey only. But i was looking at some full chrome and chrome with silver too, which i thought looked really nice as my RR is silver. But then i thought they may look abit cheap/over the top, and the parts aren't genuine either (chrome..) so i wasn't too sure. What would you do?

And i wasn't sure which wheels to get either. Was looking at some overfinch but they are abit pricey. I don't want to be spending over £800 on the wheels if possible.

Also, what about rear entertainment systems? Is it worth putting that in? A PS3?

Let me know what you guys think. If pics would be helpful, i'll get some took.

Like most things this is purely personal preference.

I'd leave it alone. Thumbs Up

Bear in mind even the basic Vogue comes with a lot of kit. More than enough for many people.
There is/was a HSE more basic spec. But they are fairly unpopular and there are not many about compared to the standard Vogue.

Mine is a 2006 spec Vogue TD6 too. I have kept it original.
It doesn't have big wheels and black windows as it's a family car and I'm not a ganster. Wink It doesn't have a supercharged grill as it's not got a supercharged engine.

I think 18" wheels were standard. 19" on the diesel came about with the TDV8 about a year after yours. (I think)
So you may have a set of later alloys.

Drive it and enjoy it. Thumbs Up

You'll have the later wheels anyway then being a 2006. Which look a lot less dated than the early TD6 alloys.
That would have been the only thing I would have changed if I had the older ones.

But it's your car, so feel free to bling it up. Wink
What I like about the FFRR is that you don't need to bling it. It's the Daddy anyway. Thumbs Up
Too much bling can mean crossing the line between class and something else... (Again, in my opinon)

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Tonga Green

Its all down to personal choice really PJS

19" wheels and tyres are the ideal choice (helps with the ride quality etc.) Anything above starts to make everything a little bumpy - I have 20"s fitted to my TDV8 and it doesn't drive as smooth as my old TD6 which ran on 19"s.

22"s look great, but - of course the ride quality gets even worse. I believe they are very difficult to keep undamaged because of the uber low profile tyres.

Chrome Evil or Very Mad (not my personal favorite - reminds me of the caravans you occasionally see on waste land / other peoples fields parked next to Transit pick-ups with 'dags' running about them)

Window tints can be quite handy (lot of glass on FFRR's - which act like a green house on hot days) and can make it more comfortable for young children.

PS - You have a Range Rover TD6 Vogue (the TDV6 engine was used in the LR Discovery 3's Whistle )

Thumbs Up

As you can see, i don't know what im talking about haha!
So the ride quality will be reduced with bigger wheels then?

I think i may just change the front grill and side vents Smile

How much does a standard overfinch conversion cost? Laughing
Front and rear bumper?

This is all personal opinion of course and its understandable that you want to add a few bits I think most new buyers do and is FUN plus you can always change it back at a later more reflective time in your life.

If it were mine I would add these:

19" 2010 Style8 Alloys with Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme tyres (£800 total and perfect ride)
Chrome Half Wing mirror cover (The only Chrome I recommend @ £50)
S/C Grill & Vents (but keep the original as you may change you mind and want the genuine Vogue look)
Tint the glass (Looks good on Silver & essential if you have kids)
Steel Side Bars or Steps (£250 Only if you NEED them)

Do what YOU feel is right and then reflect if necessary Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

IMHO your SE could do with spicing up and making a bit nicer looking.

Rear tints are a more genuine look, having the fronts done does make it seem more 'hoodlum', I should know, my last 2 were like this but my current one is OEM look. See my TDV8 gallery

Wheels: Go up to 20's max, stick with OE styles and do NOT go for RRS styles, they are wrong on many levels including fit for purpose. 19's from that era look nice too, had them on my Tonga Green, see my TD6 gallery.

Grille and vents,: done this on my last two, made a lovely OEM re-fresh of the car and well worth the £300 or so it costs, fitting is dead easy, I have done a How To post in the Technical section, you can't go wrong.

Finally, unless this is already done, remove the SE badge and just leave that area blank, rather than put on a higher spec badge to try and fool people.

Good luck, post some before and after pics as the work is done, would like to see the interior of the SE as I've never actually seen one. Discovery 4 HSE

Did I miss something - where did he say he had or was putting on an SE badge? His first post clearly says not SE..... Confused
