I can help you out here, I work in Paris and live in Wiltshire and commute regularly.

The best way I have found is either Eurostar from Gare du Nord to St Pancras (average £100 return) or (for me) flights from Orly to Southampton, about the same price.

I would not recommend bringing a car over from the UK because driving in Paris is deadly and parking space is at a premium, depending on if you have garage space where you are living of course.

Keep it on UK plate so you do not have to worry about speed cameras here...

During the issues with the icelandic vulcano i drove back and forward on a weekly basis - you get used to it

If you are in Paris you dont really need a car to get around with the Metro / RER / Tram / Velib / Electric car scheme
