Its not just more luxurious (good thing) its also much easier to use and feels much better quality (good thing). The seats are much better and the leather better (Good thing). The electrics and AC are miles better (Good thing)

The original D3 Interior/Centre Consul/dash was not well though out (Bad thing) and in my opinion not that user friendly (bad thing) and as for the leather!

The D3 style was iconic and visually impressive I just prefer the more modern look.

But at least the D3 leather stood the test of time Gary... Look at D2 leather companies with P38... Same story! The newer FF you get the worse the leather wears imho...

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Indus Silver

All the 'end of line' facelifts have all been a halfway house to the styling of the next version. Inevitably, due to pedestrian legislation at the least, the D5 will have more of a rounded front end and probably the family look of the Sport/FFRR. The last of the Sports had a similar grill treatment to the L322 which in turn looks similar to L405 etc.

I'm undecided about the latest D4 look. Could I have a D3 exterior with the D4 interior please and the SDV6? 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

I think my D4 is an excellent all rounder. Dogs in and out of it every day and you can still use one of the rear seats with the dog crate next to it.
I finally took it off roading at the weekend and although didn't throw it around in a similar style to my old V8-90 it was still very capable. Even went wading which surprised the Missus somewhat (with comments like "Bet you wouldn't take yours through here...")

Then I get back in the SC and it's a different game. Surprisingly much lighter steering than the D4 but so much more responsive.

The D3/4 was such a game changer and I considered not having a full fat at all in favour of one for a while..... Regards
Mark

It's a load of rubbish. I can't even remember the last time I ran over someone.

Interestingly (or not), I've seen a couple of Discovery 4s with Discovery 3-style unpainted arches and bumpers recently.

Yes; both definitely 4s - first one red on a 12 or 13 plate on the A590, the second silver in town.

OK that's an odd thing to actively set about doing Shocked

Could they have been export models?

Commercial D4's have them as standard. Most get spec'd up to colour coded... Thumbs Up

Seems sensible to me - they were originally designed to be unpainted and it's much more practical. Our 2009 facelift D3 has picked up plenty of marks which wouldn't be there if they were unpainted.

Possible they were both commercials but the first didn't look like one.

My commercial d4 has painted arches but most of the others I looked at hadn't. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It's £400 or something to have the arches and back bumper painted on a van. Think they also come with black door handles.
