Major coolant loss/leak

2002 4.4 V8 - Coolant leak from somewhere behind the engine, water pouring out from the gearbox area underneth the car.

Removed the top engine cover and had a look from the top of the engine but can't see anything as there's no room.
How do you get access to the area behind the Vee in the engine to have a look ?
Is the the pollen filter housing section removable ?

Tried looking from underneth but no hoses in sight.

it's probably one of the rear hoses, which are a Censored to get to, but there is a wiki I think but do a search.

In addition, check your water pump at the front of the radiator. it's a common weak point. There should be a lot of brown water splashed around that area.

yep pollon housing comes out. 2x 13mm (I think) nuts hold it in either side. remove the seal from the top and pull towards the front of car. Do this then report back. Thumbs Up [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Popped into wimbledon land rover and 45 minutes later i'm back home with the part and 15 litres of new coolant. Thumbs Up

Part number JHC000081. Cost £7.31.

Another 30 minutes and it should all be fitted, bled and ready to roll.

Very Happy
