2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Hi Jason.
Do you have a warranty on the vehicle? I got mine done under warranty as after only 2 weeks the same problem occurred.
I'd say you'd definitely notice if it was turbo. Egr valve replacement sorted the black smoke out for mine.

If its covered under warranty, you might consider an independent. I was quoted £600 to replace both a couple of weeks ago. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

they should be able to tell from fault codes - or dynamic test

split turbo pipe will smoke as well (plenty of black smoke of full throttle)

however if you are rapidly loosing oil you should stop driving it

The Indy I use only suggested I replace mine and only as a result of investigation a noise I was hearing. No drop in oil level.
After reading several threads, I went down the route of a diesel additive (EGR cleaner), which seems to have done th trick go now. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
