finding source of battery drain. can anybody help

my battery keeps going flat on my 2002 hse. ive had the battery test and it seems to be ok. ive taken it out and charged it full but with in a week its flat again. im sure it could be a number of things but its driving me crazy. also when the car is switched off you can here a fan kicking in behind the dash. it starts up for about 15secs then stops. then after a short while you can here the fan kick in again. is this normal or could this be my problem??

This post http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic466.html?highlight=hvac+loom mentions a TSB and a wiring loom that kills all non-essential services, including the HVAC fan after 15mins.

I fitted one to my previous vehicle as a precaution to battery drain. It took me longer to cut the sound-proofing material to stick the relay on that it did to fit the whole thing!

Hope that helps.

If memory serves me correctly, I think it was about £29, Duckworth Dan should be able to find it from the part number.

I have a copy of the TSB which contains the installation instructions, not sure I can upload it, but PM me an e-mail address and I'll biff it over Smile

Have a look at the banner at the top of the page, he's a site sponsor, his details will appear. You can drop him a message on this board also.
