Atari Air Con

Hi,

Noticed that when the air con button is switched on, when the car is being driven along under acceleration there seems to be interference that sounds like a 1980's version of the computer game Pole Position.

Obviously switch the air con off and the noise goes (air con working perfectly too).

Any ideas please?

Thanks.

Try: up, down, up, down, left, right, b, a..

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hope you get it sorted, could it be the fan blower motor? Couldn't be any kind of interference from the compressor on the electrical system?

Is it worth taking a video clip?

Laughing

Fan blower motor seems to work fine... "Interference" is a good word. Pole Position aside it could also remind you of the noise that sometimes happens when acceleration interferes with an AM radio frequency.

It's not a major issue at all, just wondered if others had experienced it Thumbs Up

What condition is the serpentine belt in, could there be any grease, oil or cr*p on it? Just wondering if that could be worth checking as I think that drives the alternator, air con, power steering pump etc.

Either that or buy some badass driving gloves and power up!

Hope you find the cause.

Thumbs Up

Steve

Main dealer was asked to investigate this noise today and said it needs an air con "re gas" which will lubricate parts etc. So I've let them get on with it and (all systems work perfectly apart from the noise) fingers crossed this irritating noise will be banished! Bow down
