It could well be David but they feel very different compared to a normal spring as technically its a Gas/Rubber spring instead of a coil/metal arrangement so much freer moving and not likely to snap

I'd certainly not be able to get any decent ones over your way either, euro prices are that much higher and in france... well they somehow manage to run them until they literally fall apart going down the road!!

Anyone who hasn't driven an XM or Activa really should as some XM's are now in classic status and the rest of them along with the Activa wont be far behind with even semi decent ones like mine getting hard to find never mind good ones. I wouldn't spend £2-3k on one but thats what the going rate is for a perfect one these days with under 150k miles and 250k+ isn't uncommon

I dropped it in for its MOT yesterday as its booked in for tuesday. There shouldn't be anything amiss with it as it did have a going over by a chap who is well respected in the citroen circles but each tester is different and i think the emmissons might be a bit off as i threw some loose fuel mix in it the other day to help flush it out as gentle driving for a long time was leaving it a bit smokey when i booted it but some good long runs and use of the boost has cleared it out more but im always wary, especially with a cold diesel being left to an MOT centre. Worst case scenario if it fails on it by a little i'll just have to take it for a good drive and give it a service. I've read a little of the service history but there is a lot with it and i will be sad to see it go, So far its been the only citroen other than the Activa to make me really miss being in them, the rest were comfy and strong workhorses but not for me long term  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I drove my ex's CX regularly (until it went up in flames due to the good old reliable Citroen electrics). Amazing car to drive disaster to maintain. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Must admit I love Citroens too but only one I owned was a 2cv infact 3 of them last one being a dolly ! Always fancied a CX or an XM .

Had a new C5 Estate as a company car once and really enjoyed the experience.

Always lusted after the DS and, to a lesser extent, the CX and XM.
