Glasgow to Kilsyth, along the Tak-Ma-Doon Road to Fintry and onto Crow Road and over the Campsie Hills, a quick visit to Big Al at Wheelcraft and a short stop at my mother-in-laws in Milngavie before heading home

Total of 56.2 miles with an elevation of 3743 feet...That's a lot of climbing for an old geezer like me that's just getting back into cycling

This was the anticlockwise route

With plenty CAT 3 & Cat 4 climbs, this is the Tak-Ma-Doon climbs

Today's forecast said a 20% chance of rain and it didn't disappoint...
While I was in the Campsies I was cycling amongst the clouds, it was cool and damp, but the worst was leaving Glasgow heading home, I turned along the River Clyde and the heavens opened up, by the time I arrived home I was rather soggy Sad

Great fun all the same Laughing Laughing

It took me just under 7 hours at an average speed of 16.1mph

Not bad for an old git who's just getting back into cycling and considering the climbs involved. The best part was leaving a lot of the youngsters in my tracks Laughing Laughing

Keep at it Contra and you could be up to 100 miles routes by Christmas Laughing Laughing

If anyone had said in January I would cycle 111 miles with 9300 ft climbs this year I would never have believed them.

This was the picture that made me look twice and think it was time to loose some weight.
