If it's a V8 then there is a batch of cars that need the turbo scavenge modification that first cropped up on the L322. Suggest a visit/call to dealer to check.

Agree with Nick. Had the same issue 're smoke on hard acceleration and it required visit to dealer and some modification to turbo and oil drain. Known problem so should be able to fix. Get it done sooner rather than later as it affects dpf. Few members on here have had similar issues and haven't seen any recurrence on mine following fix last month. MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

As per Shalz, my L322 suffered DPF failure after the modification as it was one of the first cars to exhibit the drain issue so do not delay. I was surprised when the problem showed up again on the L405 too. But after the very first time it blew smoke there was no delay and it was in for the mod' (VIN number tells them if it is likely to be affected). Proves that the SDV8 is just a chipped TDV8 I guess? 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

Had it checked today....apparently the smoke from the exhaust is when the DPF cleans itself. All mod. had been done previously and computer not showing any faults.

Can anybody confirm having similar issues?

Thanks,

JJ

Has the smoke from the exhaust only happened this one time, in which case it could be a dpf regeneration? If it's happening regularly on hard acceleration then it's the issue Nick and I previously mentioned. If they've done all the mods then not sure what else it could be other than a separate oil or coolant leak? MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

Never noticed the DPF cleaning itself in the past but I tend to do quite a lot of long faster journeys. If it blows out copious amounts of smoke regularly then its unlikely to be DPF. How many miles has your car done? Mine started to show the turbo problem at about 9k on both cars. 2019 D5 HSE Lux SDV6 Indus

This is the second time I've noticed on hard acceleration, the car has now 8500km.

As mentioned before I was told that the smoke from the exhaust wa due to the DPF cleaning itself...but today for the very first time after 6 month a warning sign turned up: Exhaust filter almost full Shocked

Getting fedup whit this Exclamation

It's in your book , regen on the DPF , loads of cars now having same issues not just land Rover , you need to drive it to get DPF hot usually on motorway for 20 mins at 70MPH etc , but you will see this in your manual. same on 3.0 , etc etc

Also i have noticed over the last 2 years that better fuel if you do a lot of town and short journey stuff also helps the DPF Far to many gone...

My wife has a VW Tiguan and as she uses it for school runs I have to give it a blast up the Motorway every few weeks to avoid the MIL coming on...
