More order delays - run out of 5 litre s/c petrol engines

Spoke to my dealer to check on the new 14.5MY options (no info yet) as I am expecting to take delivery on 1st of March. I am now hearing that they have run out of 5.0 s/c engines Big Cry as well as panoramic roofs so no idea when I will take delivery. All 5.0 s/c builds are being centrally allocated by LR due to short supply. It's a real pain as I wanted to sell my 2010 s/c during the winter in the hope of getting a better price but if my order is delayed significantly I will have to keep it a while longer. At this rate I think I may consider rolling my order forward to a MY15!

I guess the big expansion in China and the recent launch of the XJR are all proving a little too much for the supply chain.

People get more involved in ecological solutions. I believe that's why the 5.0SC is so popular. Whistle Very Happy 2017 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 silicon silver

Well, how about this view :

Gas guzzlers deplete the oil and gas reserves of the world much faster, leading us to a faster adoption of sustainable and renewable energy sources. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

So I will be looking for a L322 5.0 SC next as it meets all my needs and keeps my work secured for the next decade or so (by which time I hope to retire). So win win win for me Rolling with laughter MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Rolling with laughter Unique view. I rather liked the recent BBC report on the dangers of emissions from diesel vehicles, making the 5.0 SC the green choice over an evil SDV6. Mr. Green There are lots of up intended consequences. Whistle

Yesterday I heard someone state that Mazda has found a diesel that emits far less than a petrol engine. Haven't had a chance to look into it but will soon.

I still think that ultimately the way to go is full electric or hydrogen/fuelcell electric.

I plan to get hold of the Jeremy Rifkin, Third Industrial Revolution book, supposedly quite good.

I hope I can drive my SC (4.2 or 5.0) for many years but do plan to switch full electric as soon as possible for the daily runner. I still plan to finish my full electric trike (a so-called reverse trike, similar to the Campagna T-Rex) and get a Tesla when I can afford one but beside the FFRR as the daily runabout/commuter car.

Maybe some day I will convert the FFRR into a full electric (or better, buy a FFRR and convert that into full electric) once that becomes viable. Technically it is actually quite feasible already, just financially it isn't yet at least not for me Smile. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Me too, We only have 8+6 (big gas guzzlers) here and only petrol.

We also have my Kawa but that is in non usable state (disassembled) so not using any petrol Sad

But we do rent big cars when we are on our vacations Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I'm currently 6+4+4+3+2+1.

The 4+3+2 are motorcycles.

The 1 is the lawn mower that I must sell as I have converted to electric.
