What tablet

I'm after some advise looking at getting a different tablet I have the ipad which is great but won't run all applications on the web meaning I got to use the old laptop. Been looking at the Samsung tab which looks good but does it work any better / differently than the Ipad. I thought I would ask here rather than a "sales advisor" in currys

The Samsung Galaxy Tab and Note can definitely do more stuff than the iPad can. We ran into some issues with my wife's recent purchase, top of the range iPad and my Note 10.1 can do more, especially some of the things she needs.

We have a second Note for the girls and my wife to cover for those issues.

Only problem we ran into is the Google/Adobe flash player issue but that was resolved after some surfing.

My wife ran into emailing issues, not file management at all (I can happily transfer/copy/cut/paste files from Note to card reader and back etc.), uploading onto her university website of her assignments etc.

So you get better functionality for a lower price. And re. the security issues, just install Sophos or other good quality security app Smile.

I am a big Android fan, especially Samsung because of the open ecosystem.

I am also planning to start playing with Ubuntu, once my new desktop W8 all-in-one arrives Smile on my old HP laptop. In other words, I'm happy to try anything but Apple because I had the closed ecosystem principle, it is exactly what I predicted many years ago "it will kill Apple in the end, the closed eco system as people hate to be "locked in". The same with MS, if the stranglehold seems to get too strong, there are plenty of people to take advantage of building more open systems : Google, Linux, Ubuntu etc. etc. etc.

People don't like monopolies and the dictatorship that goes with it Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
