Update

I intend to have a chat with TUG RR shortly and then I will pm those that expressed an interest. Once we are in general agreement of the overall arrangements I will pm them again and then post them on the forum for anyone else who may fancy this run out.
Chris

Still watching . . .

Can I suggest "proper" roads only for the first "Peak Tour" ? That way, everybody who's considering it so far won't be put off by the possibility of damage. We don't want the "Shelf Queens" dirty, do we !

The suggestion above by Mustard to take in the Snake is a good one. There's a good brew stop in the Derwent Valley with the Dambusters Museum there, also. I guess that trip is open to debate if some of you chaps are travelling from Cheshire way, as it's on the other side ? That being said, it could be on the return leg.

I can recommend many twisty roads in the Peak District, which more importantly will not get involved with the general visiting masses. I'm not doing fast straights as the last one cost seventy five quid. And that was in bloody Cheshire !

Perhaps if those interested can indicate where they are travelling from and how long they want to be out, we can work around that -

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

UPDATE

I'm meeting TUG sometime next week. We will then post our ideas for discussion.
I'm looking forward to this even if only three of us make it Very Happy but we are of course hoping for more.

OK everyone, TUGRR has come up with an excellent route with two potential choices to end the day- Winnats Pass or Derwent valley.

I've tried twice to post the full route but keep losing the post on the ipad.

If anyone is still interested in this run out, please contact me via a pm and I will forward Tugs proposed route.
He has come up with a really good route which includes a run through the grounds of Chatsworth House.

I personally like the idea of a group of RR outside Chatsworth House. I'll even put my brogues and Barbour on don't you know. Anyone got a spare liver and white spaniel for the day. Thumbs Up

Anyone else?

Sad news is that I'm only able to do this run on the following dates 5/12/19 October. After that I'm out the country until mid Feb. So lets get cracking.

Quick update ref. the route. I drove on the off road bit - Macclesfield Old Road - on sunday.

Whilst it was do - able, I don't think it's for everybody due to the risk of damage from boulders. The route is wide and not particularly long and offers exceptional views across the moors.

However, the exit is a longish decent requiring low range and raised suspension (yes - your cars do have these !! - only kidding) and I wouldn't want to do it if I hadn't driven my car off road before.
There's the added risk of red necks in knackered Discovery's trying to overtake you. Yes, really Rolling Eyes

So, to sum up, I believe the rest is a good swish through the Peak District Cool

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

If anyone is coming past Longshaw at Fox house from Sheffield en-route to the start at the C&F and would like a "navigator" I'd like to come to experience the FFRR experience ready for hopefully an upgrade in February from my current Sport, happy to go halvers on fuel or buy lunch ? Banished back to RRS for the moment !!!
