Davos is in Western Switzerland and very cheap in the summer (All Ski Lifts, Cable Cars, Funicular, buses, Mountain Trains are free) which is great as its a VERY expensive place in the winter. Interlaken is stupidly expensive to use the lifts etc in the summer! (E100 a shot)

However we travel all over the Alps and southern Europe every summer and do not locate in one place - hence the Motorhome rather than Caravan Very Happy

Haven't got one, but have to admit when I towed my mates to a site for him, they were growing on me a little:

The funny this was, I'd never towed before and this mo-fo hanging off the back put the wind up me a little when trying to get it off his drive, which was a shared frontage for three houses and only enough room for one car in and out, coupled with a nice old wall either side of the entrance! I quickly learnt how to reverse a caravan that day!

The van was on the grass (right of pic) when I arrived, and was facing the house! I must have done a 50 point turn getting it to face the other way and lined up with the exit!

And finally......£20k worth of caravan safely delivered! Phew!

LOL, that van is exactly the same as the one I bought brand new back in January. Looks well behind the FFRR too Smile

In best posh mode I have the full fat version of this Elddis van - the Buccaneer Caravelle. Same van but with more stuff in it including roof mounted air conditioning. Nnniiiccceee.

However Explorer Group made van owners please be warned of questionable build quality...........

Just got the van back from the dealer with every window having leaked last month. They didnt truly believe me or the pictures I took when it leaked. until it rained while it was in their yard. One afternoon later and they found that four central screws tightening the window to the body were missing. Shocked
The rest of the windows have been siliconed up short term, then its back in after our Summer hols to get each window taken out and refitted, this is on a 2008 van we bought new.
With only a few weeks to go they do not have enough time to fit me in before then. Supplying dealer many miles away too. Wonder how many more missing screws they will find (water ingress warranty on it thank god)

Nice van that Buccaneer.

Mind you, if we ever get the legislation to permit the lengths I would buy this.
