'08 TDV8 - to touch or not to touch?

Morning, all,

Any thoughts on this possible entry for me into the RR ranks?

https://www.vcars.co.uk/used-cars/cardetai...p;u=592050

It's with Auto100 (north of Nottingham, nr Mansfield). I don't know anything about them. On their site:

http://auto100.co.uk/vehicle/08-reg-land-r...er-sat-nav

Assuming that the FMDSH is correct and the paperwork otherwise looks kosher, would you consider it seriously?

I'm not sure what the spec might be lacking, this not being an SE, but some straight Vogues are, as far as I can tell, reasonably well provided with upgrades.

Very grateful for any pointers,
David

looks ok for a low miles range...if you're not to much fussed about getting a SE then i'd consider this. ... - .- -.

Alloys have been damaged by someone being cheap and putting weights on the rim instead of stick on ones. So worth knocking some money off for that as they would need a refurb and balancing right, nice light interior on a dark car as well is always good but being a dealer you should be able to get the price down. Maybe Gaz could help with CAP values so you know if its on the nail or not. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I noticed the drivers side side step has damaged silver trim towards the back of the step. And the drivers seat seems very worn for under 50k which is surprising. I guess you pay a premium for the lower than average mileage as most of this age are up in the 80 to 90k range.

Have seen a lot of Vogue SE spec cars for less but with higher mileage which contain a few nice touches the Vogue is missing like rear entertainment, cooled vented front seats, auto dimming side mirrors, cornering lights, adaptive headlights, and maybe some other things I cant remember.

But if your priority is low mileage then I guess theirs no harm in checking it out as pictures will not give you a true idea of condition etc.

Also forgot to mention Gary has a lovely looking 2008 Vogue car with AB exterior pack and 2010 facelift for about the same money. Mileage is higher but seems a lot more car for the money in my opinion.

Many thanks for the helpful replies, and patience with the newbie - much appreciated!

Gary has been kind enough to send through some figures. I'd rather buy from him, as he knows http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif, but time is also a factor. The 2010 facelift looks like a quality car, but it tries a bit too hard for my taste. That's just my taste, of course.

I was looking for an SE, but this one caught my eye, less for the mileage than because it seems to have a good service history, as well as one of my ideal colour combinations and interior finish. I take the point about mileage vs kit, though, and might just keep looking for the SE spec with more on the clock.

Thanks for the reference, Stan. I've been trying to research as much as I can, but this one would be a long trip to view, and I thought it worth seeing if it set off any alarm bells for you old sweats before setting off.

Smile TBH most go for VSE spec for the RSE, which is a bit of a ploy as the screens are small and stuck with either a single input over them or DVD's playing. A few others have noted that iPads are a better investment for the same money, but if you need a cool bum and some cornering lights then a VSE or AB will be the one to go for Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

^ Its a no brainer the Facelift at Clarkes Bespoke is £5950+VAT for the 2010+ and this is the 2012+

Wheels are nearly £2k ....

To buy a 2008(0Cool Range Rover take it to Clarkes and get the job done for same as I am asking you would need to buy the donor car for £16000 - good luck with that!!!!!

http://www.clarkspremierbespoke.co.uk/inde...s-upgrades

On top of that plus brake callipers were refurbished and a £1600 MD service just completed.

I was going to mention Gary's car before everyone else pointed you towards it too. The price is great for a car with the AB design kit.

I bought my car directly from Lee at Clark's Premier Bespoke after having called him about doing a facelift upgrade on a car I was looking to buy locally. I ended up driving from Manchester down to Peterborough to pick the car up!

Good luck with the search anyway.

Very similar to the car I "bought", and the price is fair. Check the inner seam of upper tailgate and make sure everything works including phone and ensure you get two heater remotes as well as keys, cost me £102 each to replace. TDV8 Vogue SE 2009.
