"HELP"SHUT DOWN!!

Hi All,
Thought that if any one could help somebody on this forum will know. Just traded in my 08tdv8 for a 2yr old sc autobiography. Fantastic car but a slight niggle! .....if sitting in the car parked and ignition off, I put the radio on within 3 to 4 minutes a message appears "SHUTTING DOWN LOW POWER" and everything closes down if I press the radio on again the display then reads "LOW BATTERY START ENGINE" the engine starts no problem . The dealer has replaced the battery but dosent have a clue as to why this is happening. Here is the bit where I really need advice! The dealer says that this could be normal!!!!! TO SAVE THE BATTERY. I used to be able to sit in my last ffrr and even watch tv and have the prs heater on without any probs. Any advice would be great.

Mine has done exactly the same after a few minutes?

Did the dealer give you an answer?

Mine is a 2010 and does the same, it follows on from when they updated the software and fitted a new gel battery, the software change also cut down the amount of time that the FBH will run for after switch on. As I recall the software mods were part of a service bulletin, but I'm sorry I cannot remember which one. Range Rover Sport 2023 D350 Autobiography

Sorry I should have said but I think the software mod was put in to protect the battery and problems people had been having, the result is that it is very protective of anything that is power hungry such as the TV and soon goes to shut it down. Range Rover Sport 2023 D350 Autobiography

so am i correct in assuming that if the 'shut down' error appears then you must have the software update already.. ... - .- -.

I would assume the software mod is in place, it was all part of the service bulletin which changed the battery to a gel type. I bought my car a little over a year ago from a main dealer, I had no problems with the car, battery was fine etc, however I noted on TopIX that there was this service bulletin outstanding so I advised the dealer and they carried out the job, changing the battery as well as the mod at the same time. Following which the timing for the FBH was reduced and the warning described appears.
I do reasonably long runs most of the time so the battery is always well charged however the warning/ shutdown occurs after probably about 10 mins when using the TV, this never happened previously. but I also notice if i do a few short runs in winter for example the warning comes up quicker, it suggests it is very protective of the battery and I have never encountered a problem starting up. Range Rover Sport 2023 D350 Autobiography

the software mod is LESS protective of the battery than the factory setting.
so the warning should go away.....

No matter how I talk the landrover....I cant seem to get through to them that the AGM / BMS / software updates are effectively making accessories on the car defunct to a degree.
