A bl00dy big shadow Mick.

The thing is I have a 103 mile route that I've signed up for at the end of the month coz the daughter talked me into it. She put her name in for it in February and started training and I was talked into participating. I've never done 100 miles before, last Wednesday was the first I've done 50 miles so I'm a long way off the 100 mile mark. I know it won't be easy and I've no idea whether I'll complete the course, but to give myself a fighting chance I really need to get as many miles as possible in between now and the end of the month.

Oh and here's the best bit...Daughter hasn't done any training since June Shocked

The route I cycled today took in a climb that I last did some 23 years ago, a long drawn out hike up to 602 ft and half way up on a corner at a farm there used to be a dog lying in wait of poor broken cyclists who couldn't pedal any harder. I was crapping myself incase the farmer had trained another vicious animal to guard his corner of the road.I quietly came to the corner expecting the Beast of Bodmin to be lying in wait and all seemed quiet until I went round the corner when I heard barking from the farm courtyard. Well that was enough for me, my ar5e was out the saddle and I was stomping on the pedals as fast as my legs would allow, heart rate through the roof I never stopped pedalling until I reached the top of part 2 of the climb. Laughing Laughing

It was freezing when I headed out for today's ride. Left the house and went to visit a mate in Stirling, 40 miles there via Lennoxtown, Campsie Glen (5 Cat 4 climbs and 3 Cat 3 climbs), Fintry and Kippen. Lunch and a chat and home via Denny, Kilsyth, Kirkintillock and Bishopbriggs.

Total of 74.56 miles and elevation gain of 4114 feet with my biggest climb of the day being 1112 feet and I managed to burn off some 2300 calories
