I recently bought a replacement LT95 gearbox, which after fighting it into place turned out to be 150-odd kg of scrap metal It arrived fitted with an adapter plate for a different engine (mine sits behind a 3.5 V8 ). The seller originally said to me that he wasn't sure whether I needed the adapter or not, but if not, he would pay for me to return it to him. Notwithstanding the knackered box he sent me, I'm a decent sort so I still telephoned him and offered to return it, hoping that when I told him that the box was no good, he might offer me something back. He didn't, and he has since ignored my emails (still) offering to send him the adapter back.

So, maybe I can sell this plate and recoup some of my outlay. I've seen adapter plates on "a well known online auction site" going for £150 or more, but clearly I can't list it without knowing what it is! I vaguely recall him saying that the gearbox came out of an RR Classic with a diesel engine, *possibly* a Perkins but maybe something else.

I can't find any reference number stamped or moulded on it anywhere. If any of you recognise the adapter from the pictures below, I'd really appreciate it. It has a moulding for the starter on one edge, and the clutch release mouding on the opposite side, as with the standard LT95 box.

Definitely try a defender forum but add some measurements as well. Looking at that I would take an initial guess at the big Mazda diesel. I had one in a RR Classic many years back and it was quite popular at the time. There were quite a few of them about.

Might also be about right for a Perkins 4.236 though. Mind you, that's 15 years old memory talking there.

Best bet for info would be landyzone but be aware it can be a bit fiery over there
