iid tool buy or not to buy?

Hi I need a good place to my iidtool from with good after service I rang island 4x4there price was the cheapest but they were not helpful they just said go the site get info from there. I have a sc what else can u do on iidtool can u update software on the range?

Yes I have seen this but big diff in price from the normal to the Bluetooth one
I really want it to lower my car and prob update some glitches

There are a few forum members with multi VIN licenses that are willing to help other members with all kinds of stuff, like Ajay for example.

That is a cheap option. If you go for IID, I'd suggest to go the full monty. Reason I say that, I use full functionality of the Faultmate because I can and I would be totally p Censored d off if I couldn't do something with the unit i had that a more expensive one could. But bear in mind, I have always done a lot of work (especially fault finding) in my cars due to bad experiences with dealers etc. (mostly from others as I was raised by a very good mechanic/fault finder Very Happy ).

Now if you are not the type of person with an OCD on getting things right and wanting to have control, then full functionality is not a big issue. If you do like or expect to want to do more stuff in the future, it helps.

It also helps to show a good indy that doesn't have the right diagnostics equipment to sort out your car or to check if you are not being bullshitted by a dealer/indy/mechanic by knowing what is going on. It also helps with faultfinding at no cost because you can provide info that a dealer/indy would charge for !!!

If you really just want to lower your suspension then keep looking on the forum for someone that wants to help out and visit them, treat them to a nice lunch or something and you are sorted. If you expect to be wanting to do more in the future and/or don't want to be lose too much money on dealers/indies, then I suggest you invest in a full function IID or Faultmate. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Ok next question can any one help me to lower my sc if u have multi licences then I can decide to buy a iid full monty myself)

I don't have the IID myself but there are some good descriptions on the forum on what they can do. I have a Faultmate and they can do the same plus update the ECUs of the car (an option that I believe is not yet possible with the IID but may be coming in the future). Because I am in a "remote" location, the full functionality (similar to the official LR Testbook T4) plus access to the original LR firmware is vital.

I have updated my transmission and engine management ECUs for example.

I can change every setting that the FFRR ECUs have, read and clear all the fault codes, do live recording of values generated by the sensors etc. etc. etc. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Why not just stick a knife through all the air-bags and ride it on the bump stops?? Very Happy

I really cannot understand people who want to 'lower' or put 33" wheels on a car such as the Range Rover! If you want to go and do stuff like that buy an X5 or some other 'wannabee' Range Rover!!

The >60 mph does not work on the SC. There is a "high speed mode" which activates over 100 but a few seconds below 80 and it raises again.

I have the IID tool and it's absolutely brilliant for the price. One quick example. I had an issue with the Air suspension compressor and using the live values stuff it was really easy to diagnose.

Similarly reading and clearing faults from all ECUs.

Reprogramming the CCF for silly things that you might like on a "whim" such as lazy locking, follow home lights, auto locking etc. You can do all of them.

Mine has paid for itself even just in diagnostic time. The support from the guys in second to none.

One caution though if you go too low the ride is HORRIBLE. It's designed with a given pressure in the springs as a compromise between compliance and ride height. If you lower the ride height (reduce the pressure) then you feel all the bumps a lot more as the bag if softer.

That's another great thing about the IID tool- You can set it up, try and and revert if necessary!

Wow that is a really good option to reprogram the cars ECU and gearbox my gearbox takes too much time to change and in higher revs. Why stab the bags the vogue is a beautiful machine they should have made it lower from the factory. Forget the X5 and shabby sport Full Fat all the way;)

Been asking iid tool dealers apparently only diff between the normal and bluetooth version is the blue tooth been quoted cheapest 270 gbp inc del for the normal one and the bluetooth version 440 gbp inc del Unless some 1 else can supply it cheaper? . A big diff for looking FLASH Cool Boy the sc looks Sexy Dropped Very Happy

ebajema I have been reading up on the fault mate its a nice piece of kit it has a lot of functions and is well established. Apparently u can program the cars gearbox and engine ecu thats auto logic stuff but a lot cheaper. From what I can see is iidtool is heavily advertised and has only been out less than a few months. I think I prob go for the auto logic well underrated
