United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
I think it's shiny enough now...

As this is the first black Range Rover I've had and having owned a Black 5 Series in the past I knew it'd be a PITA to keep clean, so I've done as much as I physically can to prepare the paintwork for the elements and weather.

Some would say I had gone overboard, others maybe not far enough?

1. Washed it prior to a full De Tar treatment
2. Clay Barred the entire car including the glass and alloys
3. Megs Stage 1 Paint cleaner
4. Megs Stage 2 Paint Polish
5. Autoglym HD Glaze wax

Wait a week, re-wash and then:

6. Megs Stage 3 Carnauba Wax
7. Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection

The finish is very good and although I haven't gotten rid of all the swirl marks (most are gone), it still looks great. Some close ups... Cool

That looks Censored that... Wink

No, honestly, really good mate! Lot of effort though, i did mine last week with a clay bar and zymol. Now its dusty and dirty, so will need a wash this weekend, then will coat with aqua wax and ag high gloss. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

But the benefit is that even if they are dirty, the dirt doesn't bond to the paint and it washes much easier, and you have the comfort factor knowing that even in bad weather/winter, the paint is protected, even if you can't wash it for weeks and weeks.

Plus, as it's all slippery, you get more mpg as it glides through the air! Laughing Discovery 4 HSE

Nice job Smile
I was recently thinking about how I can prepare & protect mine for the coming winter (as well as from the dam birds).
I tend to have it cleaned at the hand car wash and within 24 hours a bird or 3 takes a dump on the bonnet and / or the wings. With it being black the bird dumps stick out like a sore thumb and it drives me mad as hell, I also never seem to be happy with the final finishes from these types of car washes so I intend to start collecting some cleaning goodies so I can start cleaning it properly myself after the winter has passed Thumbs Up

That looks great mate, well done. If you fancy a nice holiday near the equator in a beautiful resort with pool, you're welcome to come over and give my car the same treatment while you are here Wink MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

That's why I've put in all this effort Stan, so it won't be so hard later on!

Stornoway and silver are the best colours for hiding the dirt. Big Cry Discovery 4 HSE

Very nice, I used to do the same thing... until I discovered the Gtechnic line of product, I can not recomead them enough.

No more waxing, simply hose it down once a week and is shine like new, ditto for wheels.

you need to apply it on a polished paint of course.

I think it might be C2. I just bought a DA as im likely to do less damage with that than the rotary I have. I have also bought wolfs hard body which can be layered to provide maximum protection and gloss Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
