You don't need bluetooth in the car, it is for connecting the IIDTool to PC or Smartphone, can understand the confusion though .

You do actually have BT for your phone, the module is in the back. Maybe yours is no longer working but that can be solved by Wiggs. I swapped my BT unit for an upgraded Wiggs unit and it works great with my S3.
