I'm in a similar quandary - 275 40 tyres on 20" rims or 255 55 tyres on 20" rims? Which would give the best all round ride?

Having had 20s on my D3 I would go with 255 55's

Stan, I'm running 255/55/20's on mine and ran next to 3 cars on the French motorway today (all with large digital displays in the middle of their dash) and my speedo read exactly bang on 130kph too So I think it really makes little difference |

Why would the speedo be out? The 255 55's are on a set of 20" RR L405 alloys I'm looking at. I'm currently using 18" alloys that came with the motor. |

Because the l322 FF runs 255/50/20 not 255/55/20 which is the size for the later L405... |

Actually 22's can look really good, and like you say the ride is not different

The OE stuff does look good....but my budget won't stretch to fresh wheels and rubber atm, and looking around the 22s are cheaper than 20s - plus I have been offered some 22" tyres - still would prefer the OE look if am totally honest but we'll see..... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........ |
