I don't believe that is completely correct as there is space on the configuration file for keys 3 & 4. I'm not sure if tue technician can disable the old remotes by over writing the key 1 & 2 position but the car will definitely work with more than 2 keys. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

Myunderstanding:

There is space to configure 4 keys but you can alter the functions for each one - anti-hyjack, lights-on etc
They cannot over-write key #1 if it is lost, but they can disable it and add key #3 instead.

I was told a different story by my local dealer. There are two keys programmed into the car and if one goes missing, you order a new one from the factory, which then replaces either key 1 or 2 depending on which one is missing. Then, the outstanding key will cease to electronically function, although it will manually open a door. If this is done, the alarm will sound. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

ah now we are getting somewhere, so Noddy if the Alarm sounds is this just once and then thats it? or would it sound intermittently indeffinitely - I realise you may not know the answer...

reason being lost a key quite a while ago and wondered if somebody could get in without me knowing and lock her up afterwards...

this is exactly what i've been told , the alarm will sound constantly and will not start the car or disable the immobiliser
