Switzerland 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Hmm, well this has been coming. The same weight and power as the TDV8 but much better economy. Be interested to see what the real world figure is.

Winch, expedition roof rack and standard tyres ...

I imagine they will sell well, particularly in the US and anywhere there are tax benefits for hybrids.

Such hybrid with 169g will greatly reduce the 5000 euros "green" tax one has to pay in France when ordering a TDV6 405 or 494 (6000 for TDV8...) that is on top of the "V5" fee, about 1500 euros

About the extra gear, can a RR Sport owner or fan let us know if the roof rack is indeed coming the the Sport catalog?

Mona Car, the producer of these racks ate dust 2 years ago, so this can not be a L405 dedicated roof rack - or someone cut and pasted the design.

Too bad Goodyear does not offer the MTRs in adequate size/rating, the L405 would look great with them, à la G4 Challenge. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Am I missing something ....."Each model delivers practical inner-city performance up to a 30mph top speed for about one mile when in their driver-selectable electric-only mode".
£100k for a "Hybrid" that will only travel about 1mile at 30mph on electric only.
The 35kW electric motor equates to 47bhp... I think the car will be running on the diesel engine most of the time. God help anybody using the ac or heating whilst on battery only.
I presume the mpg is achieved by using external charging of the on-board battery, if not the battery is being charged by the diesel engine ... burning diesel.
To me this looks like a very carefully manipulated set-up to enhance the green credibility of LR.

Discuss Very Happy Thumbs Up

Welcome to the world of hybrids. Not just Land Rover playing the game.

Friend's business in Belgium pays something like €10k a year in company car tax for his TDV8 after the rules changed last year - if a hybrid reduces that bill, people will buy them.

All vehicle engine/powertrain technology (including million cog gearboxes, smart-stop, smart alternator control) are developed to reduce fuel consumption (and hence CO2 emissions) over the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).

Nothing to do with real-world use.

hmm.. but its priced next to the supercharged when the tdv6 only does a few MPG less, and when the SDV8 is cheaper it seems a little daft Censored
