Retrofitting 2010 mirrors - advice please

Hi everyone, so I have taken the plunge and bought a set of 2010 mirrors to retrofit to my 03, but I have got stuck.... I know I need to change the drivers door switch module, but I have a problem with the wiring. The old mirrors have one 12 pin quick lock / right angled block, and one flat block with 4 pins. The quick lock block slots into the switch module, and the 4 pin plug connects to a 4 pin socket under e mirror bolts inside the door card.

The new mirrors have camers ( I won't be using) and blind spot alert LEDs (ditto), but it has 2 sets of 10 pin block connectors.

I will need to extend the wiring anyway to get the mirror loom to the switch module, but can anyone tell me:

Should I re-pin the loom with the old-style connector, and if so, which wire does what on both?
Or should, I buy a n/s switch and extend the loom?
The switch also has another, white quick lock connector and another chunky plug that looks like a power feed; are these the same on the newer modules?

Not sure if it will work even with the newer switch pack as 09+ vehicles use a 11bit can bus system where as 05-09 use 29 bit can bus and the 2 cannot be mixed

The guy who owned my car before me fitted chrome mirror covers that I want to remove and either replace with colour coded covers or just spray the original plastic.

Does anyone know how these are fixed! I'm scared to break anything...the covers are polished top half and satin black painted below.

I was also looking into this as the back plates on my 54 mirrors are starting to flake off! An auto electrician said the cost of changing everything required would out weigh the gains so looking for a nice pair of earlys now!
I'm also in w Sussex (Horsham) may see you about! Cool
