I was called out to a 1 year old Hobby the other day, as they had water running down inside the front window (and going onto the shelf and down onto the seats etc). Apparently where he bought it from is too far away to have it done under warranty.
What I found was a major build/design problem. The front window is a full-width one opened by gas struts. At the top of the window - at each end - the window goes above the metal hinge bar so that, when the window is opened, the two top edges catch on the bodywork. On this caravan, one side of the top of the window had broken off completely and the other side had split.
Because the window is full width, the hinge bar has so much weight on it that it doesn't stay straight. Hence water was going in at the top of the hinge bar and running down the inside of the window.
The other thing I noticed was that the three latches that secure the window did not actually engage with the blocks on the bottom, so I could just push the window open. I fitted spacers to resolve this problem.
All this on a caravan costing well over £20k. And people talk about German build quality!!!!
