Switzerland 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey
X350 XJR

Met a friend last night who also has a VX220, although his has a Harrop supercharger and +350bhp - darn those Swiss MOT inspectors. His second car is, like mine, a JLR product, and of similar vintage - a 2004 XJR.

These are seriously cheap these days. He doesn't do many miles so the fuel consumption isn't so important, but on a run he's getting circa 27mpg.

He let me have a drive of it. I've always loved Jags and used to own an XJS, and there was some serious yearning going on when I drove this.

I've been thinking of getting a GT car (really an XKR) in the next year or so, but this has got me thinking. An XKR for the same money as this would be a much inferior car.

If I was getting one though I think I might go for the regular supercharged and LWB just to get a bit more comfort. And the interior would have to be drug dealer black.

This doesn't mean I'd get rid of the RR though - that's a keeper.

Shocked

These are seriously cheap. £2k buys you one with loads of miles, or £10k for a minter. Graham

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

I've also been looking at them lately with more admiration.

I'm not really a Jaguar person, but I've always liked the XJ and the early 6-cylinder XJ-R's are some of the nicest looking models ever made, in my opinion. A mint one for £4,000? A steal.

The 4.2's, though, are fantastic value for what they are and very tempting. Si. <This is my name.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black

I had three X308 XJR s from when they were current until about 5 years ago and loved the mix of effortless performance.

You can waft about when you want to as well as make serious effortless progress, just make sure that you get one with the big brakes as I ran out of brakes once. Shocked

Also had a good tussle round the Nurburgring with a VX220, who was shocked at being caught by a four door saloon with four people in it, which ended in him spinning off - thankfully with no damage.

A lot of car for the money - enjoy Thumbs Up

I was tempted to get a ratty one to use as a commuting tool to save the FFRR for more fun journeys. Now I think I will have to go look at some!

There was an alloy XJ saloon near me a couple of weeks ago for sale for £8k. I think it was an '04 car, one owner with 32k in dark blue with light beige leather. It was a proper motor car and even at that price looked phenominal value for money.

Nice cars to park next to your FF !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

+1 for the: always in the back of my mind to get one brigade.

Nice cars and always smell good i seem to remember, though it is a few years since i have last been in one.

have a distinct memory of going past my old school at +100mph in an xjs in the late 70's. awesome.(probably a little politically incorrect nowadays Whistle ) There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
