ill be shocked if the mileage is correct. If this has spent five years on motorway patrol it should be nearer 300k. I can think of no reason why this would be just 81k.  My Previous RR's!

The mileage doesn't surprise me - the 4 x 4's are used generally less than other road policing cars. They usually come with a print out of all maintenance carried with relevant mileages, so verification is easy.
As for thrashings, the biggest problem I believe is the car being used to it's full extent after having been stood for a few days - that happens alot.
On the flickr pic, it has no name on the bonnet - perhaps it had a front shunt ?
It's got to go cheapish though, due to the HSE spec, as KP mentioned.
On a plus note, some ex police cars like this are cheaper to tax . . .

As above if it is ex motorway police you should just run. I bet that car has never been driven carefully. Dont forget they need to get places quick and if they have just come on shift and been lumbered with the FF they will just be putting boot to pedal...

For under £10k i think it might be ok but more than that you have to worry about things, and another bug bear about ex police cars is not having them MOT'd as it doesn't leave a traceable MOT history for milage to see if its done loads and then been left in the back of beyond for some reason. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
