L322 steering sensor at fault?

Could a steering sensor throw up a fault when the ABS ECU is replaced / reset? Its a new issue not seen before and dont know whether its a symptom of another issue now we have a replacement ECU fitted

i had all the alarms cleared today, but shortly after driving again, the alarm returns.
Whats really odd is, if you turn ignition off, remove the keys and start again - no alarms. Until you set off.

When we look at the live output through the computer, the steering values change as the steering wheel turns, so its getting data back - but i wonder could the fault be intermittent? Or could the ABS ECU not be correctly reset?

Or, if the steering sensor is at fault, what is required to change one?

thanks for that

Turned out to be a gremlin whose moved out. This morning, after a 1hr drive we reset it again, and so far after several hours of further driving it remains fault free!

why do these RR's need to get used to something being replaced before they accept it?!

I guess it is possible the main ECU was learning new tolerances from the replacement ABS ECU and kept on alarming until we finally reset after it had finally learnt all that could be learnt!

Seems strange, but its the only explanation!

no steering sensor issue. FFRR 2003 Vogue V8
