That's perfect justification. Obviously, the new bulb for an old projector costs more than a new projector.... |

Yes, so I can watch vintage porn. They're silent anyway so don't need sound. ![]()
It's an Optoma HD64. ![]() It's only 720p which is a bit irritating as I have it running through a computer. It's also quite noisy, especially when I have the fire lit.
When I refurbished the lounge I didn't want it to be dominated by a big tv so went down the projector route. I have a ceiling mount with the cables hidden. This was when I was testing it out and getting the correct positioning when I was refurbishing. ![]() As you can see, I could really do with one that's a bit brighter. Cost of new bulb - a bit over £100. Cost of new 1080p projector - a bit over £500. Think I'll go for that. The one I'm looking at has a bulb life of 8000hrs compared to 2000-3000 for the current one, so factor that in and it's not a hard decision. On a unrelated note: How much for the wood burner? Did you buy it in Switzerland?

I bought 2 and they were for sale here in Switzerland but I found a special deal in Germany. I think they were about chf 3500 here, which is about £2500. I think I paid about 1200 eur and got the VAT back.

Got my eye on a second hand Sanyo PLV-Z3000. Auction finishes in 10 minutes. |

Well, the Swiss auction site doesn't work like ebay. If you bid at the last minute it adds two minutes to the completion time, and some f*'ker is uping his bid by 1 franc every two minutes. He's no where near my maximum but if this continues I won't find out until tomorrow if I've won.
