Where does temp gauge sit on first start up?

Hi all

All you guys with facelift td6 FFRR can you do me a favour. On a cold morning, first start of the day etc, when you turn ignition key where is your temperature needle sit on the gauge? After changing all sorts on mine my mech thinks the clocks/dials etc are knakered.

First turn of the ignition key on a morning not even starting the engine mine jumps up to the top of the blue, this is about how much OVER 1/2 way it gets when warm and under load.

With the car hot and running he unplugged the temp sensor and gauge dropped but only to top of the blue.

Any help would be VERY much appreciated! If everyones does this then it not me clocks that are broken

cheers all!

Rich

I'll go and check - in a couple of months. Laughing

Seriously, I could check now for you but it's 34°c outside.

Mine does a full sweep from cold to hot on start up then settles back to the start of the blue and moves up as the temperature rises (I have a 56 TDV8).

Don't know what it does if I disconnect the sensor under the bonnet 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

When I start the car, TD6, the temperature gauge stays at the bottom of the gauge and only moves up as the engine temperature rises and then sits at just left of vertical when the engine is hot.
I would expect this to be normal. Thumbs Up
