Noisy Fuel Pump

I have just noticed that my fuel pump is noisy and I can hear it from the outside of the car and has got a little louder in the last week or so. Am I right in thinking this is a sign of pending failure? The pump was replaced a couple of months ago when I had my BIG troubles pre-engine replacement. Should the pump be this audible? I don't particularly want to change it again, but I don't want to break down when I go on holiday either. Mmmm Owning a Range Rover is the land based version of a boat...a hole in the road in which to throw regular bundles of money!

hi mate

you should not be able to hear it from outside the car, mine started to go that sounded like a grinding noise like marbles being rolled around. In the end the pump started to cause the car not to start correctly and i had to replace it after about 3 days of the noise starting. Now i have changed the pump for a brand new genuine land rover one no noise at all even in the cabin and the engine starts instantly on key turn.

Hope this helps
Matt

Bums, I thought that would be the case...yet another dip into the savings account I guess! Owning a Range Rover is the land based version of a boat...a hole in the road in which to throw regular bundles of money!
