If only car prices dropped in the same way that new technology does, we could all have a nice new FF for about £1000! Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I agree with Tboner, the rapid developments in technology and the competition require JLR to follow or be left behind. Whether it has a positive or negative effect on residual value is not relevant as without the frequent updates their overall sales go down.

Ultimately they do what "we, the buyers" want and can afford. As long as "the market" asks for it, they will deliver, if they are smart and they are usually.

For the people that like the frequent updates and can afford them, that is great. For others, like me, it allows us to get second hand cars for decent prices as well. I think that even if I would be making millions every year (assuming they are USD/GBP/Euro and not Naira) then I still would not upgrade my cars to the latest model every year, just because it is a waste. However that is not relevant, because I'm not the average buyer.

Everything the manufacturers do is market and profit driven, because if it isn't they would go out of business or the shareholders kick the management team out of their jobs. Its all down to maximizing short, medium and long term profit for the company and that is quite a complicated piece of work to get it right Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

The thing that has always peeved me off is that the MOST system can shift data at such a stupid rate between the connected devices bu the devices are still slow as Censored and thats not solely down to the canbus interface.

Im betting a lot of firmware updates will get those features on the MY13 model but id be interested to know how the dual path access to the canbus from most system works as thats likely to want to be done by owners as well if its a case of splicing in new cables. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

bit of a thread revival...

But have they swapped out the poor quality centre screen for a decent quality one yet, like the one behind the steering wheel?

It's been mentioned in a lot of reviews and I really thought it was poor, so thought they would have spent £30 extra on a decent screen for the MY14.

Or are they still working on that?

2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV6 Luxor

Screen same, graphics different. LR is moving back to 'Land Rover' badged vehicles across the range, so 'Range Rover' and corresponding graphics with blue theme are being replaced for orange and silver with green oval.

Apparently the screen is limited in resolution by the dual view technology, but I don't believe them based on the screen in my Westminster is DV and is much higher res.
