Condensor Electrical Fan not working

Hi guys, I've just had my air con refrigerant regassed on my 2006 RR Vogue 3.0 TDI and the guy who did it tells me that the electrical fan is not kicking in when the air con is switched on. He showed me the pressure rising and tested that the is power to the fan (~14V?) and from the other side of the fan's connection block there's the same voltage too. He said that the viscous fan would cool the compressor ok whilst the car is moving but in traffic or standstill it would overheat....his suggestion is that the fan needs replacing but is there anything else that could have failed and is this diagnosis correct? Lol, the thing is, I don't know if it's ever worked! All I know is that the air con has worked for the last 3 1/2 years that I have had the car then stopped....on reassign it now works but apparently the fan doesn't. I'm going to ring my local independent garage in Leeds tomorrow but I'm guessing they will say it needs replacing....

Oh dear, I don't like the sound of that.....are you using your air con without the electric fan working? Could it be anything other than the fan if power is being sent to it?

Had my air con re gassed yesterday all seemed ok, smelt burning, realised the belt was slipping on the pump because the pump is Censored !! Gotta get a new pump now!! Damn it!!
