Intro and Reverse Camers Again.

Hi All,
I have been a member for a while now and this is my first post. Must say the information from you guys on here is great. Bow down I am a 65 year old, Aircraft Engineer, working in Bahrain and have a 2005MY, L322 Vogue, 230000Kms, (Square Headlights). It needed some TLC when I got it, which I am achieving slowly. (Must say they are not built to with withstand the heat as far as rubbers and plastics go) It is the Denso touch screen version. It has cost me £5500 in repairs and enhancements since Jan 2012. Big Cry But I would still not change the beast, it is a fabulous car to drive and very comfortable.

Any how to get to business.
I am thinking of fitting a reverse camera, (Plenty On Bay of E) but have a couple of simple questions, I hope, for all the experts, and yes I have searched the forum.
1. Am I right that the best type is the CCD chip?
2. Is a 520 TV Line type OK for the Screen?
3. I have a fuse in position 8 in the rear fuse box and the user manual states its for rear camera. (Manual from the WWW, printed in 2004) Does this mean I may have some of the wiring already in place?
4. Will the CCF need Configuring for the camera to be activated.
5. I have seen in the forum that the TSD module will need re-flashing. Is that correct?

Over here we do have a Land Rover specialist who can do CCF changes, about £34 a shot. (Dont know about re-flash)

Anyhow thanks in advance for any info provided and sorry if I have missed the answers if they already exist. Embarassed

TTFN. Dave.M. 2005 Vogue 4.4 (BMW) Still giving it TLC after its neglection. Not quite a money pit, but close. Now 245K. (05/14) It is still the most comfortable car I have ever owned.

From everything I have read CCD chips are much better than CMOS especially in the dark.
Not sure if the FF requires a PAL or NTSC feed but this may be something else you need to consider.

Thanks dave699, I had missed that post, it answers the question about the CCF and the fact you can fit one on a 2005MY Touch screen.

I knew about the Fakra connectors on the back of the TSD, and I have the TV and Venture cam fitted. (The Venture Cam itself had gone walkies with some Bahraini before I got the car)

You also answered the CCD part as well.

Good point whether it should be NTSC or Pal, I think the consensus on here is that it should be NTSC for the touch screen.

So Ta Muchly for your words of wisdom.
