Believe it or not, we sold one of these scooters on the bay of fleas a few weeks ago. We only got £67 for the whole thing & it was in good condition with brand new unused batteries! So that's where I'd begin my search, these vehicles are cheaper if you can find a three wheeled version.

PS; The guy that bought it is now complaining as there is a loose battery connection!  The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!
When women say fine a mans in deep doodoo as fine has so many meanings.

Tell him you'll take it back and I'll buy it !

Sorry about the delayed response, but here's some pics of the two my dad made.

The Series 1 was built from scratch by him using the wheel size to scale from - it's pretty small. We used it quite a bit but due to it's size, it was soon outgrown. He also built a matching Brockhouse trailer. And it had full working lights, a forward/reverse gear lever and a tilt alarm !

HA HA - It looks great on the trailer !

Something you'll need to decide on is how many wheels you want driven as there's no differential.

Both ours were 1WD (!) - shocking for a Land Rover - but both were meant for tarmac etc. If you're going off road, you might both wheels driven . . . .

 Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

The rear axle is driven off a chain and makes it only 1 wheel drive. The plan is the weld the other wheel direct to the shaft to make it 2wd. I got told last night it can be converted to 4wd

Update- bought a newish scooter 8mph about 2 years old.
Made seats up from mdf and foam that will be getting covered in leather.
Removed the chain driven axle and modified and extended the scooter axle/gearbox etc to fit in a treat.
Next job will be getting all the electrics onto it and a new steering set up

The controls are still on the scooter so we sat the scooter accords the back and went a test drive. Father in law driving and me hanging off the back pressing the accelerator on the scooter ! What a laugh

Batteries clamped in
Control unit fitted and wiring stripped from scooter and transferred across
Brake release rod brought through floor to manually release the brake
Fitted the controls to the existing plate but going to make a new one.
Ordered lights and bonnet catches today.
It's going to have indicators,lights,horn,ignition with key.
